Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the city (Mandeville),
The Port Marigny team was still trying to do a dog and pony show to the P&Z committee;
The pretty depictions of utopia were shoved down the citizens throats,
In hopes that they buy this concept, without checking the CLURO notes;

The City Council were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions that positive votes would not bring them dread,
And the Mayor in his campaign, and I in my running cap,
Would not be soon settling for a Port Marigny vote nap-

When out in City Hall, there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from my laptop to see what was the matter.
Away from my office I ran like a flash,
Tore open my front door and screamed, I won’t stand for this trash!

The pre-stressed on the acres with it’s old fallen mess,
Gave the Port Marigny team hope that soon they would be blessed;
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But other citizens and City Council members telling me the density they did fear,

With a leery community, so enjoying their space,
I knew in a moment there would soon be a political race.
More rapid than egrets their campaigning did not go astray,
And they whistled and shouted and hoped for a vote delay:

“Now! Nixon, now! Louisette, now! Donald, and Danielson,
On! More Traffic, on! Carla, on! Ernest, and Madden;
To the top of the trailhead! To the top of City Hall,
Now push away Port Marigny! push away all!”

As density leaves congestion like evacuation traffic before a hurricane fly,
The CLURO and Master City Plan, should not ruin our way of life;
So the good citizens united and trusted their Council to go,
With their votes against questionable presentations and high density, for them to VOTE NO!
