First off, I want to brag about my new sponsors Clearedjobs.net. If you have a security clearance and are in need of a job – this is your one-stop shopping. If you are an employer needing employees with clearance – this is for you too! They support the troops and will go the extra mile for them too.

Justin Pitard and Natalie will be filling in for me as I head on out to Charleston, West Virginia for the International Chili Society’s World’s Championship Chili Cookoff. I am going on behalf of Soldiers’ Angels and will be a salsa judge (hint – this will be on The Food Network).

My radio show airs each Saturday morning from 9:00-10:00 Saturday on AM 690 WIST or live on your computer here.

Justin will have on political analyst/strategist Maurice “Hippo” Katz to talk about all the candidates and potential candidates for the mayoral race. They will also touch on the races for city council, assessors, and single sheriff.

Marilyn Kearney, Program Manager for the Main Street, Oak Street Initiative will join the show to talk about the revitalization of Oak St. and the upcoming Po-Boy Festival.

Justin will also be promoting the U.S.S. New York which will be leaving New Orleans headed for its namesake city October 13th. The U.S.S. New York is a Navy Transport ship built using nearly 8 tons of steel that was salvaged from the World Trade Center after September 11th. City and business leaders want to give the ship the send off it deserves by having citizens line the levees on Tuesday morning, and we’d like to help.
