I took an on-line poll with my Cotillion sisters and the readers of Hooah Wife. 14 people answered the survey.
1. would you visit New Orleans tomorrow?
2. would you move to New Orleans tomorrow?
3. do you think Louisiana is using the money it asks for wisely?
4. has your attitude towards New Orleans become hopeful or cynical?

I won’t post the answers until Friday. So here is where you get to comment and tell me what your predictions are!!!!!!

  1. 1. I am not sure about this question. I don’t think I would visit when it is so hot. Most of my friends and relatives live in much cooler climates so they say they will visit in the fall.
    2. I guess New Orleans would not have been my first choice, but here I am. We moved into New Orleans last week. The moving van arrived last Wednesday and we are busy getting the house in order. We chose to move here to be together as a family. I think this will ba a real challenge because we have a son who is a senior in high school. We are hoping to meet wonderful people and be part of the good things that will happen in New Orleans in the near future.
    3. I really don’t know enough and haven’t done enough research to answer this question.
    4. I have to be hopeful! I am grateful that we were able to buy a nice house, live in a safe area, and the commute to work and school will not be too long. Although we will miss the easy life on the coast of Central California, we are determined to make this move a good one!

  2. Here’s my prediction:
    1. would you visit New Orleans tomorrow? Yes
    2. would you move to New Orleans tomorrow? No
    3. do you think Louisiana is using the money it asks for wisely? Don’t know
    4. has your attitude towards New Orleans become hopeful or cynical? sympathetic

Welcome Liz! Life is easy here too. The south is known for taking life slow. Especially when it is hot! Sorry you arrived right in the midst of the heat. It doesn’t last too long. It actually just got really bad. Probably the day you arrived!

  3. 1. Oh yeah!
    2. Just need a good job!
    3. Not sure, but it doesn’t sound like it.
    4. Hopeful, always – NO,Mandeville,Hammond – the entire metropolitan area is a great place to be. I loved my time there and would love to be back someday. It is the people and the culture (and the food!) that make it great and give it a great future.
