*** A great Sunday was spent at Bass Pro in Denham Springs. We ate at their restaurant Islamorada Fish Company and I must say – we were impressed with the food and the prices weren’t too shabby either. Mmmmmm… the sugar bread was scrumptious.

*** The Hungry Forager in Mandeville is a new eating establishment. Waaaaay cute inside (I haven’t actually eaten there yet – on my to do list)! 902 Coffee St (985) 626-8883. They are open for breakfast and lunch on the weekdays and brunch on the weekend (call for hours). They also have a to go full prepared refrigerator. If you sign up for their e-mail – the menu for the week to come will come to you. For $14 I fed 4 with a spaghetti pie (the kids saw real live tomatoes in there and freaked out) but otherwise liked it!

***The Pizza Man in Covington was everything I hoped it would be! Tom Fitzmorris knows what he is talking about!!! Oh that spinach pizza (I had it without meat) was to die for! I haven’t had a good spinach pizza in forever – and this one was the best! Wash it down with frosty mugs and a pitcher of draft beer with hubby while the rugmonsters were entertained at the window watching the pizza being made – and everybody is happy!!!

***My kids started CAST drama camp today with fellow NOLA.com blogger Jen. The kids went in with hesitation for this 2 week camp that will end with the production of The Wizard of Oz and now they CAN’T WAIT to go back tomorrow. CAST has more camps over the summer – check it out!

***I took a ride down to Reserve while the kids were in camp. I had to drop off some donated items collected by the students at Thomas Jefferson High School in Gretna. I took the items to the almost one year old Southeast Louisiana War Veterans Home. Also got a tour of the facility and was soooooo impressed. State of the art and the staff seemed wonderful! Yes, Soldiers’ Angels supports everyone!! Proud to have my angel wings! Want to join – click here or here or e-mail me gretaperry@gmail.com!
